Walt Disney World

We got the chance to go to Disney a few weeks ago with the whole Trudell side of the family, and had a great time! We went for a long weekend, my parents rented a huge house for all 12 of us to stay in, it had a pool and hot tub in wonderful screened in porch (yay, no bugs!). The weather was perfect, mid 80's just right for trekking through the Magic Kingdom. This was the first time Riley and Kit had been to Disney and it was fun for me just to see their excitement. Riley got to ride everything except for Space Mountain (we did Peter Pan instead) and he got to meet Mickey, Minnie, and Buzz Lightyear! I didn't even attempt to show Kit any characters, I didn't need a meltdown.
We got to go on a lot of rides (thank goodness for fast pass!), see the parade and the fireworks, we pretty much shut the park down! Riley's favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear, and I think Kit's was probably Small World, one of my least favorite! Neither of them liked the Haunted Mansion, so we'll probably wait a few years before we try that again. Kit didn't get to go on a whole lot of rides, and she got pretty ticked about that, but there will be more trips...
We had a great time, and no one even got sunburned-which is saying a lot with my pale children!

Update: March 2009

Here's a quick update on our family...
Riley:
*eagerly counting down to his fifth birthday (holy crap I have a 5 year old!)
*has received 'awesome' behavior reports every day since we came back to school in Jan!
*uses the kitchen stool to climb up and get down breakfast everyday for himself and Kit
*looking forward to starting T-ball in April
*can kick everyone's tails at Mario Kart
*sings along with his favorite songs, and knows almost every word!

Kit:
*doesn't stop talking from the minute she wakes up until she falls asleep!
*is already planning her birthday party (since we went to party city for Ry) and so far it's been Lightning McQueen, My little pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and Tinkerbell!!!
*loves to sing along with the radio but, like my dad, sings only the last word in every line!
*only wants to wear Riley's p.j.'s to bed, no more girly pink and purple for her, she wants the dinosaurs!
*calls Riley 'brother', which I just love!
*worships Riley, and then turns around and tattles on him, telling me 'brother say me poopy head'!
Erin:
*just finished first 8 week session at Brenau, and have a 4.0 for the first time in my life now!
*hoping I can pull everything together to have Riley's party here at the house!
*wondering how Lulu is not bald, with all the flippin' dog hair I keep sweeping and swiffering!
*is looking forward to Disneyworld!!
*thanks God everyday for my amazing children!
Lulu:
*will hopefully stop bringing home animal carcasses!
*apparently will eat snow right out of Riley's hand!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Lulu's Trophy

Only someone from Lula would actually write a post about their dog's disgusting habit, like for instance bringing home animal bones, like real bones. Lulu started this in Newnan, but I thought it was just her redneck phase. Oh no, last week she tried to bring a bone in and I had to hold her down and pry her mouth open only to discover it was a jaw bone-with the teeth still intact!! How disgusting is that?!? Then, to make matters worse, I kicked it across the patio and a tooth fell out! I also happened to find the rest of the skull over by our gas tank, not sure where she found these remains, but they are gross. But, now that we are living in the country, I feel comfortable blogging about it-just be warned, I'm including pictures-but they are kind of funny. I took a picture of my hand next to the bone to give a reference point for the jaw bone, so then the kids wanted me to take their pictures with it too! Kit wanted to do it, but not get too close. Riley was all about it, I had to keep telling him not to pick it up.

Weekend in Delaware

We flew up to Delaware a few weeks ago to visit my cousin Amy and her family. She has twin boys, Ronin and Walker, who are 6 months younger than Riley and a little girl, Emilie, who is 7 months younger than Kit-so they were all perfectly matched! Oh-and her husband Wil is her biggest kid!! We had a great time, we went to the zoo, Friendly's (Trudell family favorite) and Xbos-an enormous indoor playground with bowling lanes, video games, and kiddie rides-complete sensory overload! Amy, Wil, and I rocked out on Rock Band every night, and the more we drank, the better we sounded!! We had a lot of fun together, and I am so glad we got the chance to go visit!!
*I also included a picture from the first time Dan and I flew on a plane, thought it was a neat comparison!*
