Starting the new school year

First Day of School/Daycare at the Pope household! Always start the day with a healthy breakfast of pop tarts! Riley doesn't look too excited, but maybe that's because it's 6:45 am! Riley ran right into school and found his name and hung up his bag, and hugged his new teacher Ms. Leila. Ry sent us on our way and then it was Kit's turn, she did okay walking down the hallway, but as soon as we got to her room she just lost it! She has gotten better everyday and today she told me bye bye and closed the door in my face! They both love their classes and their teachers. Riley comes home telling us about a new friend every day, and Kit already has her first boyfriend (we're in trouble now!) he is a sweet little boy and her teacher tells me they hug and kiss, and if they are sitting next to each other they will put their arms over the other one's shoulders! All in all they are doing just great! PS for all those who make fun of me for dressing my children in coordinating outfits, please notice I did NOT do that this time!! =)

We moved!

So, it's already been a month since we moved, but I'm trying to get back on track! We moved up to Lula at the end of July, and are settling in a little more every day. The kids have started daycare and preschool; Kit still cries a minute in the morning, but Riley practically sprints to his classroom! Every time we come home the kids sing "our house", which is such a wonderful feeling! Riley has asked why we move and move and move, and do we have to move again? But we are here for good, no Army to make us move now!
Moving day was crazy, but with help from my wonderful friend Jennifer, and pretty much her whole family, we got it done fairly quickly! Lulu joined us a week later when my parents came to visit. They helped so much, unpacking, setting up and getting the tv and dvd player hooked up so we could at least watch movies!
The kids are sharing a room, and despite a few rocky nights, they are doing great! Riley is in a big "big boy" bed, he is sleeping in our old full size bed, but still managed to fall out the first night!
So, all is well, and we love our new home, and welcome anyone willing to trek up here!!

Weekend at Oma and Grandpa's

On the fourth of July a small black kitten adopted my parents, and the kids were instantly in love, but I can't say the same for the kitten! Kit pretty much named him c'mon since we couldn't pick a name. It was a nice weekend, at least when the cat wasn't running for cover, and I finally took some new pictures of my kids!

Kit cooking, she's already better than me!

Riley the rockstar!

Feeding the baby, but not quite understanding gravity yet!

Fourth of July!

I know it's over a month late, but here are our July 4th pictures! We had a great, but exhausting time. We spent the morning of the fourth at Uncle Rex's, then on to Oma and Grandpa's for the afternoon and fireworks that night! Then up to Chickamauga on Saturday for a party at my friend Tracy's house, with Riley's buddies Kati and Alli!! Riley was completely exhausted by the time we headed home that night, as you can see! But we had a great time all around!

Callaway Gardens

We went to the beach at Callaway Gardens with Michelle and the boys, and David and Vicki. The kids had a great time, Kit actually fell asleep outside on the blanket after lunch! Michelle and I took the boys to the little miniature golf course, where Riley hit a hole in one!! Michelle and I also took Ry, Zach, and Jacob to the butterfly house, another big hit!!

You try getting 5 kids to sit still, look at the camera, and smile at the same time!

Oh, and it helps if you have the camera in focus too!
